Ford Offers Buyers Peace of Mind with Ford Promise

For customers who are nervous about buying or leasing a new or used vehicle right now, Ford is aiming to provide some peace of mind with the new Ford Promise program. In the event that you lose your job within the first year of ownership or leasing, customers will have the option to return the vehicle with little to no extra financial burden.

With the new Ford Promise program, customers who purchase or lease a vehicle through Ford Credit and lose their jobs within a year can return the vehicle. Ford Credit will value the vehicle using NADA trade-in value, then reduce the outstanding balance by that amount, plus up to an additional $15,000. Any remaining balance, deferred payments or vehicle damage will need to be paid by the customer, and then the account will be reported as close and paid.

“We fell like right now, the economy is at the stage of recovery where people want things to be back to normal, they want to buy, but they’re still a little nervous about what the future holds,” said Mark LaNeve of Ford. “We want them to know we understand that, and we’re here to support them in their buying decisions.”

The enrollment period for the Ford Promise program runs until September 30, and customers can take advantage of the offer until up to a year after their purchase date. If you would like more information about the program, contact Ford Credit or give us a call at Tuttle-Click Ford in Irvine, CA.

Ford Working with GE Healthcare to Produce Ventilators

In collaboration with GE Healthcare, Ford Motor Company is starting production of ventilators for COVID-19 patients across the country, with the goal of producing 50,000 units in 100 days and up to 30,000 a month after that if needed. The ventilator was approved by the FDA and designed by Airon Corp. with a simplified, but effective design.

The new GE/Airon Model A-E ventilator operates on air pressure and doesn’t require electricity to be used, allowing it to be used in a variety of environments and locations. It has been designed to meet the needs of most COVID-19 patients suffering respiratory issues, and is able to be produced in large numbers quickly.

“The Ford and GE Healthcare teams, working creatively and tirelessly, have found a way to produce this vitally needed ventilator quickly and in meaningful numbers,” said Ford president and CEO Jim Hackett. “By producing this ventilator in Michigan, in strong partnership with the UAW, we can help health care workers save lives, and that’s our No. 1 priority.”

By working around the clock, 500 paid volunteer UAW employees will produce the ventilators on three shifts at the Michigan factory. Airon currently produces three ventilators per day in Florida, but Ford plans to make 7,200 per week once it reaches full production speed.

An all-electric version of the Ford Transit van will be coming to Ford dealers starting in 2022. Ford has said the new electric Transit will be available in the United States and Canada. The primary goal is to help businesses become more sustainable, lower their ownership costs and improve air quality and noise levels in cities nationwide.

A leader in the commercial van segment for 35 years with the popular E-Series, Transit and Transit Connect cargo vans, Ford has the experience and technology that help businesses get work done.
